Rema, whose full name is Divine Ikubor, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. Born on May 1, 2000, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, Rema quickly rose to fame with his unique blend of Afrobeat, trap, and pop music.

At the age of 18, Rema gained widespread attention after his freestyle cover of D’Prince’s song “Gucci Gang” caught the attention of music executive Don Jazzy. Impressed by his talent, Don Jazzy signed Rema to his label, Mavin Records, in 2019.

In March 2019, Rema released his self-titled debut EP, which included the hit singles “Iron Man” and “Dumebi.” The EP received critical acclaim and propelled Rema to stardom. “Dumebi” particularly became a viral sensation, amassing millions of streams and views on various platforms.

Later that year, Rema released another EP titled “Bad Commando,” which further solidified his status as a rising star. The EP featured infectious tracks like “Lady” and “Bad Commando,” showcasing Rema’s versatile style and catchy melodies.

In 2020, Rema released his third EP, “Rema Compilation,” which included previously released singles as well as new tracks. The EP featured hits like “Ginger Me” and “Woman,” both of which garnered significant airplay and chart success.

Rema’s music is known for its infectious hooks, melodic flows, and relatable lyrics. He effortlessly blends elements of Afrobeats, trap, and pop, creating a unique sound that appeals to a wide audience both in Nigeria and internationally.

In addition to his musical achievements, Rema has received several accolades and nominations. He won the Next Rated award at the 2019 Headies Awards, which recognizes the most promising upcoming act in Nigeria. He has also been nominated for prestigious awards such as the BET Awards and MTV Africa Music Awards.

With his distinctive style, undeniable talent, and energetic performances, Rema continues to make waves in the music industry. Despite his relatively young age, he has already achieved remarkable success and has become one of Nigeria’s most promising and influential artists.
