Providence, Rhode Island singer-songwriter and pianist Sydney Sharp releases her latest single, “Don’t Pick Me,” the third release from her upcoming album “Resonate.” Available on major streaming platforms since July 24, 2026, the track blends Afrobeat-inspired rhythms, contemporary R&B, and soulful vocals to tell a powerful story about love, betrayal, and self-worth.
Written during the early summer, “Don’t Pick Me” explores the emotional challenges of being involved with someone who is torn between two partners. Rather than accepting the role of a backup plan, Sharp’s narrator moves from heartbreak and frustration toward confidence and empowerment. Catchy percussion and deeper instrumentation create an energetic backdrop for Sharp’s expressive vocal performance.
The song was created in collaboration with musician, producer, and engineer Alex Enamorado, who used an Akai MPC to develop the track’s vibrant layers and textures. The pair previously worked together on Sharp’s singles “Ghost in My Bed” and “PeaceMan.”
