Quarteen has released “Fractures,” a new single that explores the complicated emotions of modern love through atmospheric sounds, powerful guitars, and droning synths. “Fractures” was created through an independent and unconventional recording process. The song was recorded on a laptop in Bedfordshire before being remixed at Mark Refoy’s studio in Northampton and mastered on a houseboat in London. This unique journey adds to the character of the release, combining home-recording creativity with professional production.
The single also includes a special B-side, a “Dub Refuzz” by Mark Refoy, known for his work with Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized. His remix takes “Fractures” into a more spacious psychedelic direction, bringing greater emphasis to the bass and rhythmic elements.
