PRESENCE Revives the Nu-Metal Era as “Again and Again” Goes Viral 23 Years Later

More than two decades after its original release, PRESENCE is experiencing an unexpected resurgence as “Again and Again” introduces a new generation to the sound of early-2000s nu-metal and hard rock.

Originally featured on the band’s 2003 album Rise, released through Curb Records, “Again and Again” has found a remarkable second life on TikTok. The track has been used in more than 93,000 posts, generating approximately 53 million views. The renewed attention has also translated into streaming success, with PRESENCE surpassing one million Spotify streams in just 28 days.

The song’s combination of aggressive verses and an immediate, melodic chorus has helped it connect with both longtime fans of the nu-metal era and younger listeners discovering the genre for the first time.

Formed in Tallahassee, Florida, in the mid-1990s, PRESENCE developed a distinctive blend of hard rock, nu-metal, and hip-hop influences before signing with Curb Records.

“Again and Again” demonstrates the unpredictable power of social media to revive music from the past. Twenty-three years after Rise, PRESENCE is once again finding its audience—and proving that great rock songs can have more than one moment.
