Gospel recording artist, songwriter, producer, and arranger Ellen Hayes presents “Behind My Eyes,” the title track from her upcoming album. The song offers a heartfelt reflection on hidden struggles, perseverance, and the power of faith during difficult seasons of life.
Originally inspired by lyrics Hayes began writing years ago, “Behind My Eyes” developed as her personal experiences shaped its message. Life’s disappointments, doubts, challenges, and moments of healing brought greater depth to the song, making it one of the most personal expressions of her musical journey.
The track explores the emotions people often hide behind their smiles, including pain, tears, and uncertainty. At its heart, however, is a message of hope and gratitude for the faith that provides strength through difficult times.
Drawing on her gospel roots, Hayes combines vocal harmonies, thoughtful arrangements, and personal storytelling to create an inspirational musical experience.
After years of songwriting, recording, choir direction, and music ministry, Hayes continues to use her talent to encourage others. With “Behind My Eyes,” she invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences and discover hope through faith, healing, and perseverance.
