Calm Bomb Collective brings together three distinctive voices from different corners of music with the release of “Paranoid,” a genre-blending single featuring Jonathon Newby, producer Krohme, and Living Colour bassist Doug Wimbish.
The track combines alternative rock, hip-hop, funk, and electronic music, creating an energetic sound that refuses to stay within one genre. Newby delivers an urgent and expressive vocal performance, while Wimbish provides a powerful bass foundation. Krohme handles the production, mixing, and mastering, adding layered electronic textures and rhythmic energy to the collaboration.
Live drums from Esmute, along with guitars and keys from Luciano Porto and Krohme, give the song a strong band-driven feel while maintaining its experimental character.
“Paranoid” also reflects the mission of Calm Bomb Collective, a nonprofit record label and creative community supporting Autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled artists through resources and artist-focused release opportunities. The single serves as a benefit release, with 100% of sales through Bandcamp going toward the organization.
The collaboration highlights how different musical backgrounds can come together to create something bold, dynamic, and meaningful.
