Award-Winning Songwriter Jeff Saxon Unveils First All-Blues Album, Happy Traveling

Acclaimed songwriter and solo artist Jeff Saxon has released his first all-blues album, Happy Traveling, offering a refreshing take on the genre with upbeat rhythms, thoughtful lyrics, and soulful performances. The 13-track collection opens with the lively “Get It While You Got It,” setting an energetic tone while highlighting Saxon’s expressive vocals and clever songwriting.

The album also features intimate acoustic performances, including the fingerpicked ukulele ballad “Someone Or Somethin'” and the inspiring guitar-driven “I Don’t Fall Easy.” These stripped-back tracks showcase Saxon’s versatility as both a musician and storyteller. While several songs were self-recorded, much of the album was created through remote collaborations with musicians from across the United States and beyond, including artists from Louisiana who bring an authentic New Orleans flavor to the recordings.

A standout track, “The Oops I Wrote The Wrong Thing Blues,” humorously explores the risks of heated social media exchanges and was selected as a finalist in the 2025 UK Songwriting Contest.

Influenced by blues legends such as B.B. King and Freddie King, Saxon blends blues with R&B, jazz, Latin, and classic American songwriting traditions. Based in the Puget Sound region, he has earned numerous songwriting and music video awards throughout his career.
