Edinburgh-based independent artist Stephen McCafferty has unveiled his latest single, “Debt Collectors,” marking the beginning of his second album rollout. Following the successful long-form release strategy of his previous record, McCafferty plans to release a new song every eight weeks over the next 20 months, offering listeners a steady stream of fresh music.
“Debt Collectors” combines a driving indie rock sound with expansive, memorable choruses. The song explores themes of class anxiety, social pressure, and the realities of modern working life. Through sharp and witty lyrics, McCafferty examines the challenges and absurdities many people face in today’s society while maintaining an underlying sense of hope and resilience.
Over the past few years, McCafferty has steadily built a growing audience through consistent releases, live performances, radio airplay, and media coverage. His music has received support from BBC Radio Scotland and publications including SNACK Magazine, Fresh On The Net, Louder Than War, and Jim Gellatly.
Recently selected as one of six artists for Scotland Trending through Perth Festival of the Arts, McCafferty is also set to perform at major festivals such as Mo’Fest, Solas Festival, and Belladrum, further cementing his place in Scotland’s vibrant music scene.
