Independent songwriter Ryan Dumka has released his deeply personal new single, “My First Heartbreak Was My Daddy,” a powerful country track that confronts the pain of growing up with an addicted and absent father. Based on Dumka’s real-life experiences, the song reflects on the emotional scars left behind by addiction and the struggle to break destructive generational cycles.

Written entirely by Dumka and brought to life using AI vocals, the single blends raw storytelling with modern production, creating an emotionally gripping listening experience. The Los Angeles-based songwriter reveals that the song was inspired by watching his father choose addiction over family before ultimately losing him to an overdose years later.
