There were many nights when Ren had to leave her daughter with family or friends so she could work. Despite the guilt and exhaustion that came with those choices, her motivation remained clear: she wanted her daughter to have the opportunities and education she herself had not been able to experience.
Written more than ten years ago, “Beautiful Lady” has taken a long journey before finally being released. Ren explains that the song needed time, and that she needed time too. The accompanying film clip captures another chapter of her life, exploring loneliness, change, heartbreak and rebuilding.
