Ken Okada Group and YOYOKA Unveil Jazz Fusion Single “Crossing Over”

The San Francisco Bay Area–based Ken Okada Group has released “Crossing Over,” a captivating new jazz fusion single co-written by bassist and composer Ken Okada and internationally acclaimed drummer YOYOKA. The track showcases the group’s creative approach to contemporary instrumental music, blending sophisticated musicianship with an adventurous spirit.

Built around a distinctive 3/4 16th-note groove, “Crossing Over” takes listeners on a dynamic musical journey. The composition features expressive solos from pianist Murray Low and guitarist Hristo Vitchev, highlighting each musician’s technical skill and artistic expression. Just when the piece seems settled in its modern jazz fusion style, it surprises listeners with a progressive rock-inspired finale that adds excitement and depth.

The release follows an impressive run of live performances for the Ken Okada Group. The band has sold out shows at the renowned SFJAZZ Center and recently expanded its international presence with performances at Barcelona’s historic Jamboree and the Bansko International Jazz Festival.

With “Crossing Over,” the group hopes to reach new audiences through playlist placements, blog features, and radio airplay, further establishing its reputation as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary jazz fusion.
