The William Thomas Orchestra Turns Runaway-Dog Chaos into Sonic Madness on New Single “Lost My Beagle Today”

The William Thomas Orchestra release their new single “Lost My Beagle Today” bringing together humor, absurdity, and unhinged musical energy in a way only they can.

The track tells the story of a beloved beagle bolting away, leaving its owner in a mix of panic, sadness, and comic disbelief. With lyrics that balance comedic moments and genuine affection for man’s best friend, the song captures the strange duality of loving your pet deeply while also acknowledging the ridiculousness of chasing them down the street.

Musically, “Lost My Beagle Today” is just as wild as its story: punchy, theatrical vocals carry the narrative before exploding into a chaotic, improvised Zappa-esque solo. The result is an eccentric anthem that’s as much about sonic adventure as it is about storytelling.

“I like when music doesn’t take itself too seriously. I wanted this song to feel like the exact moment your dog slips the leash — frantic, funny, and full of chaos. The solo had to be as crazy as the situation itself. The recording process was also as crazy, with a late-night session, and only two takes made to get the final version, which is almost unedited. ”

The William Thomas Orchestra is the project from guitar player, producer, and composer William Thomas. Started at Berklee College of Music in 2022, they are known for blending humor, experimentation, and improvisation, William creates music that is unpredictable yet deeply relatable. After an EP (“Boston The Hard Way”) and a single (“Asparagus”) released more than a year and a half ago, he returns with The William Thomas Orchestra, a playground for eccentric arrangements, genre-bending compositions, and offbeat storytelling.
