The norwegian singer-songwriter Terje Gravdal comes back with his new single “Nomadic Grey Spirits”

62

Following the success of his single ” Apple Cider Country”, the new release “Nomadic Grey Spirits” is connected with the way farmers and industrial workers from this region connect to the mountains of Hardanger on the West Coast of Norway.

At the age of 8 years Terje went fishing trout with his father in Hardangervidda National Park, and at the age of 18 he shot his first wild reindeer up there.

In “Nomadic Grey Spirits,” Terje attempts to the highlight wildlife and the hunting traditions in Hardangervidda National Park (Northern Europe’s largest mountain plateau). Nomadic Grey Spirits is a description of inherited survival traits where the predator seeks survival by hunting, while the prey seeks survival by fleeing or hiding.

The way hunting is done has changed somewhat since my first encounter with hunting in the high mountains up here near the Arctic Circle. But it is the same skills/ knowledge that is communicated, learned through experience, and still used today.

This single is the 4th of his 6 upcoming country/folk releases for 2025, and it will be part of his 4th EP (The Dreamer) planned to be released in 2025.

The song was produced and recorded in The Norwegian Sound Studio by David Michelsen & Marius Bergseth, who also helped with songwriting, composition, backing vocals and they played all the instruments. The mastering was in charge of Peter Michelsen. The lyrics was written by Terje Gravdal.
