Independent artist Semwanga returns with “Get Out of Your Seat”, a rhythm-charged, alt-funk anthem that blends soulful grooves, raw vocals, and cinematic energy. Out now on all major streaming platforms, the track has a groove that will get anyone out of their seat
Originally written for a dream sequence in a short film Semwanga made at 19, the song has been on a long journey to release. “The film kind of flopped,” he admits, “but this track stuck with me.” Eventually recorded as part of a friend’s university final project, the song captured a live, spontaneous energy that brought it fully to life.
With influences ranging from Anderson .Paak and Steve Lacy to Lauryn Hill and early N.E.R.D., “Get Out of Your Seat” stands out with its fusion of funk, alt-pop, and DIY soul.
