The EP Fúria Secular marks a defining moment in REVO’s artistic and conceptual development. Building on the path opened by the single “REERGUER”, the record explores themes of collective and individual indignation, transforming emotional tension, daily exhaustion, and social unrest into a cohesive musical statement.
The title reflects a form of fury that is neither religious nor dogmatic, but historical and everyday — present in personal experiences as well as in power structures, enforced silences, and recurring cycles of violence that span generations. Each of the five tracks offers a different perspective on this shared emotional landscape.
“Repressão,” one of the EP’s core tracks, focuses on the suppression of ideas and dissenting voices, contrasting attempts at silencing with the enduring strength of convictions over time. The song reflects on how repression often reinforces the very ideas it seeks to erase, turning constraint into persistence and expansion.
“Abaixo às Armas” addresses collective resistance against abuses of power, while “O Outro Lado da Moeda” widens the scope to examine the historical continuity of violence and its moral ambiguities. On a more personal level, “Efeitos Colaterais”
explores toxic relationships and the internalization of aggressive patterns. Closing the EP, “Guerra Declarada” adopts a more direct and ironic tone, framing conflict as a response to everyday oppression.
Influenced by Brazilian rock from the 1980s, REVO presents Fúria Secular as a work that blends social protest with personal catharsis. The EP reinforces the band’s commitment to using rock music as a tool for critical expression, confrontation, and reflection on contemporary life.
