Veteran musician Bart continues his long musical journey with the vibrant track Maicha, released under his creative project HAKUNA PATATA. Based in Brussels, Bart has spent more than four decades exploring and blending musical styles from around the world, creating a sound that reflects his passion for global rhythms.
Having started his musical path at the age of 14 playing bass and guitar in rock bands, Bart later worked in a record store and as a DJ. These early experiences helped shape his broad musical taste, which spans reggae, dub, funk, soukous, African music, house, cumbia, samba, bossa nova, and Latin influences. As an amateur multi-instrumentalist and producer, he records much of his music in his home studio, often collaborating with musicians from different countries to enrich the sound.
For “Maicha,” Bart teamed up with regular collaborators Doroh Kendy from Kenya and Ray Solo from Zimbabwe. Together, they created a lively and uplifting track filled with smooth vocals, bright guitar parts, and an infectious rhythm. The result is a feel-good song designed to get listeners moving straight to the dance floor.
