Joff Lowson Trio Delivers Sharp Satire and Bluegrass Brilliance with “All The Bananas”

15

Renowned banjo virtuoso Joff Lowson returns with a witty, thought-provoking Bluegrass anthem titled “All The Bananas.” Using sharp satire, the song playfully critiques modern society’s obsession with hoarding wealth—framing it through a humorous comparison: if a monkey stockpiled bananas while others starved, we’d question its sanity, yet humans who do the same are celebrated on magazine covers. The track’s clever message, paired with irresistible instrumentation, makes it instantly engaging while rewarding repeated listens.

Lowson, widely recognized as one of the UK’s finest banjo players for over 30 years, brings a wealth of experience to the release. From national radio appearances on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 5 Live to performances on Later with Jools Holland, his career spans folk clubs, festival stages, and international tours. His collaborations include John E. Vistic, Sid Griffin of the Long Ryders, and the Blue Aeroplanes.

Joined by Dave Brown on guitar and vocals and Mike Pryor on double bass and vocals, the Joff Lowson Trio blends Bluegrass, Folk, and Country with a warm, post-modern flair. Their sound offers exceptional musicianship and an inviting musical journey.

Praised by icons like Billy Connolly and Johnny Walker, Lowson’s mastery shines in this clever, vibrant new release.
