Cole Train: Bringing Jazz-Inspired Vibes to UK Hip-Hop

1

Cole Train is an emerging producer whose journey began in Paris, making beats and recording with friends, before truly taking off after moving to the UK in 2022. Based in Oxford, Cole Train has quickly become a local force in the rap and hip-hop scene, producing for artists such as Creegz, KDS, and Emil. All three feature on his debut single Prestige and the follow-up Nothing to Lose, both released on his independent label, Private Democracy.

Cole Train draws heavily from jazz, integrating its phrasing and unpredictability into hip-hop production. His influences range from Frank Ocean to Loyle Carner, with a particular love for soulful sounds like Lianne La Havas. Recorded entirely in his bedroom studio, Cole’s work benefits from his early exposure to professional-grade equipment, thanks to his father, a seasoned musician and producer.

With a string of new tracks lined up for release over the next six months, Cole Train is not only carving his own niche but also supporting other emerging artists, such as Parisian rapper $kii, signaling a bold, jazz-infused direction for contemporary UK hip-hop.
