Rising UK indie rock trio Canada Hill return with a bang on their latest single “Hit!” — a rhythmically driven, emotionally detached anthem for the disaffected.
Recorded live in their home studio and shaped by post-punk grit, “Hit!” captures the tension of
missed connections, longing, and sudden impact — all in just over three minutes.
Built around a jagged groove and a chorus that hits like a punch to the chest, “Hit!” draws on the nervy spirit of Fontaines D.C., the dynamics of Pixies, and the eerie textures of Radiohead —
while staying true to Canada Hill’s raw, DIY ethos.
“It’s about missing out on an event by the narrowest of margins,” says frontman Alex Hungerford, who leads the band’s fiercely independent writing and production. “We wanted it to feel like wake up — rhythmic, punchy, and a little strange.”
“Hit!” follows a growing string of Canada Hill releases that have earned the band a loyal following on the UK live circuit. With gigs booked across London, Surrey, and beyond, and more singles on the way, the band’s momentum is undeniable.
