Brooklyn Fusion: New Lewi’s Journey from Jamaican Roots to Alternative Hip Hop”

82

New Lewi, a Jamaican-born, Brooklyn-raised rapper, infuses elements of alternative rock into his hip hop style, reminiscent of the fusion sound popularized by Gym Class Heroes. His recent endeavors include collaborations with artists like The Dissidents, with whom he toured Europe, and he’s garnered praise for his motivational single “Move.” Despite setbacks, such as the illness of The Dissidents’ main singer, New Lewi remains focused on developing his own style, as evidenced by his upcoming EP “Don’t Let Them Foolya” and his new single “He’s GloryUs,” featuring Jamal “Gravy” Woolard.
