African Train”: A Musical Ode to Fraternity between the Antilles and Africa

43

“African Train” is a song written and composed by Guadeloupean artist Max Pelissier, performed by Cameroonian singer Etsha Hope. The track is a result of a collaboration between Max and Dave Gwadaman Kynner, a Guadeloupean artist based in Paris, who handled the keyboards and arrangements. Notably, Dave is also the keyboardist and orchestra conductor for renowned Reggae artist Tiken Jah Fakoly.

The song is a friendly nod from the Antilles to Africa, acknowledging their shared heritage and musical influences. The lyrics, sung in Lingala and English, aim to reach a broader audience across the African continent and beyond. “African Train” is a symbolic journey, celebrating the musical fraternity between the Antilles and Africa.

This project is part of the “Friends” concept, a musical initiative by Max Pelissier that brings together musicians from diverse backgrounds to collaborate and share their passion for music. With “African Train,” Max and his collaborators aim to promote the song on radio stations, following positive feedback from initial listeners. This musical gesture embodies the spirit of unity and cultural exchange between the Antilles and Africa.
