A fresh voice in Christian alternative rock is emerging with the debut album from SURREXIT, the creative project of composer and producer Chris Ludlow. Titled Invisible Things, the album dives into the unseen spiritual realities that shape human life, exploring themes of darkness and light, brokenness and redemption, and the eternal victory of Christ.
Inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:18, Invisible Things emphasizes that what is unseen is ultimately more lasting and real than what we can see. “Faith isn’t always clean or easy,” Ludlow says. “It’s muddy. It’s confronting our imperfection while recognizing Christ’s perfection. Invisible Things is an honest look at that struggle and the hope that exists in the middle of it.”
Musically, SURREXIT delivers a cinematic soundscape combining atmospheric alternative rock, emotive intensity, and melodic accessibility. Strong female vocals, expansive guitar textures, and thoughtful arrangements create a sound that is both powerful and intimate.
Rather than offering a polished, simplistic view of faith, the album embraces its complexity—acknowledging doubt, spiritual struggle, and personal imperfection—while ultimately pointing to redemption and the hope found in Christ. Invisible Things invites listeners to explore the deeper, unseen dimensions of life and faith.
